HOUSTON – A Texas woman has initiated legal action after her father died while washing windows, recent Harris County District Court records show.

Veronica Martinez’s lawsuit, which was filed on Dec. 22 in the Harris County 157th District Court, pins the death of Rogelio Martinez earlier this year on AZPW Maintenance Services Co., Inc.

The decedent was performing the task in question last Jan. 29 when “the line holding him failed,” according to the complaint.

AZPW or an individual named Arnoldo Herrera allegedly had secured the line beforehand. Herrera, a purported employer of the plaintiff’s father, is a co-defendant in the case.

The respondents are accused of failing to:

  • Failing to properly tie off the decedent’s line;
  • Failing to inspect or test the line; and
  • Failing to supervise the work.
Consequently, the younger Martinez seeks unspecified monetary damages.

She is represented by attorney Clyde J. “Jay” Jackson, III of the law firm Abraham, Watkins, Nichols, Sorrels, Agosto & Aziz in Houston.
