Former Donnelly Financial employee alleges she was retaliated against for taking medical leave

HOUSTON – A Euless woman alleges she lost her job with a Houston company after returning from a medical leave.

Ch' Kyla Oldenstam filed a complaint on Dec. 27, 2017, in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against Donnelly Financial LLC alleging that the former employer violated the Family and Medical Leave Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges she was terminated from her employment with the defendant following a pregnancy-related medical leave.

The plaintiff holds Donnelly Financial LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly retaliated against her for exercising her rights by terminating her employment at the conclusion of her approved FMLA leave.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks reinstatement, actual damages, liquidated damages, front pay, attorneys’ fees, costs of court and interest and such other additional relief that are just and proper. She is represented by Mark Siurek of Warren & Siurek LLP in Houston.
