BEAUMONT – A Jefferson County man alleges that he was injured while working because of poorly constructed scaffolding.

Oscar Mendoza filed a complaint on Dec. 4, 2017, in the Jefferson County District Court against Brand Energy & Infrastructure Services Inc. alleging that the employer failed to provide a safe work environment.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Jan. 5, 2015, he was injured while working for the defendant when part of the scaffolding he was working with hit his hand and broke his wrist.

The plaintiff holds Brand Energy & Infrastructure Services Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to maintain a safe working environment and failed to warn plaintiff of the dangerous condition.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks monetary relief of more than $200,000 but less than $1 million and such other relief to which he may be entitled. He is represented by John A. Daspit and Matthew R. Perez of Daspit Law Firm in Houston.
