Man alleges he suffered burn injuries during treatment at Paloma Clinic & Spa

Medical malpractice 05

HOUSTON – A Harris County man alleges he was burned during a treatment at a spa and is seeking more than $1 million in damages.

Rafael Cortina filed a complaint on Dec. 29, 2017, in the Harris County District Court against Gabriela Solis Gonzales, doing business as Paloma Clinic & Spa, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Sept. 25, 2017, he underwent a CO2 laser facial treatment with the defendant to treat acne. He alleges he was burned during the treatment and had to miss work because of his injuries.

The plaintiff holds Gonzales responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to perform the appropriate laser treatment and failed to provide proper education and supervision to ensure proper care and treatment.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks monetary relief of more than $1 million and such other legal and equitable relief. He is represented by Tej R. Paranjpe and Benjamin H. Ruemke of Paranjpe & Mahadass LLP in Houston.
