HOUSTON – A woman alleges she was caused to fall at a Houston furniture store because the store exposed her to unsafe conditions.

Elizabeth Rockefeller filed a complaint on Jan. 5 in the Harris County District Court against Texas Forty-Five North LLC, doing business as The Dump Furniture Outlet, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Jan. 18, 2016, she was inside defendant's store at 10251 North Freeway in Houston looking for furniture. While walking, she alleges she lost her balance and tripped on several unplugged electrical extensions on the ground. She alleges she suffered injuries that resulted in medical expenses, lost earnings, pain, mental anguish and physical impairment and disfigurement.

The plaintiff holds Texas Forty-Five North LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to remove the wires from the floor and failed to warn customers to watch their steps in the area.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks monetary relief of more than $100,000 but less than $200,000 and any other relief to which she may show herself justly entitled. She is represented by Carlos A. Leon and Piero A. Garcia of The Leon Law Firm PC in Sugar Land.
