BEAUMONT – The trial of a lawsuit alleging a man fell through the floor of a Super 8 Motel has been continued.

Seeking up to $500,000 in damages, Pascual Solano filed suit against Triangle Hospitality and Super 8 Port Arthur/Nederland Area on Sept. 5, 2014, in Jefferson County District Court.

The case was called up for trial Jan. 8 but has been continued until Jan. 31, according to a courthouse official.

In his lawsuit, Solano alleges that on Sept. 6, 2012, he was staying at a Super 8. While walking to the bathroom, the floor collapsed, causing him to fall through the floor and sustain an injury.

He accuses the defendants of negligently allowing an unsafe condition to exist on the premises.

Solano is suing for his past and future medical expenses, pain and suffering, impairment and lost wages.

The Law Offices of Eric Cedillo represent him.

Judge Donald Floyd, 172nd District Court, is assigned to the case.

Case No. E-196087
