HOUSTON – A patron at a Houston business alleges she fell and fractured her arm because of the condition of a ramp.
Teresa Edwards filed a complaint on Jan. 8 in the Harris County District Court against Walter Strickland, doing business as Cafe 4212, alleging premises liability and negligence.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on April 9, 2016, she was injured when she slipped and fell while walking on a sloped ramp at defendant's Cafe 4212 in Houston. She states she fractured her arm in two places as a result of the fall.
The plaintiff holds Strickland, doing business as Cafe 4212, responsible because the defendant allegedly negligently created a hazardous condition by not installing handrails to on the subject ramp and failed to provide warnings of the fall hazard in the area.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks monetary relief of more than $200,000 but not more than $1 million and such other lawful and equitable relief. She is represented by Marrick Armstrong and Ghazal A. Vahora of Smith Reed & Armstrong PLLC in Pearland.
