BEAUMONT – A guest at a Beaumont restaurant alleges that she was injured after tripping on a mat.

Romanda Jackson filed a complaint on Jan. 3 in the Jefferson County District Court against Set Corral Inc., doing business as Golden Corral, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Sept. 25, 2016, she was an invitee at defendant's Golden Corral restaurant in Beaumont and was injured after she tripped and fell on a commercial kitchen mat that was meant to be in the kitchen.

The plaintiff holds Set Corral Inc., doing business as Golden Corral, responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to exercise reasonable care in inspecting the premises in order to discover the dangerous condition and make it safe.

The plaintiff seeks monetary relief of more than $200,000 but no more than $1 million and all other relief to which she may show herself justly entitled. She is represented by Taylor W. Miller of Reaud, Morgan & Quinn LLP in Beaumont.
