HOUSTON – A Harris County man is seeking damages for injuries he allegedly sustained while working.

Corin Branch filed a complaint on Jan. 18 in the Harris County District Court against 99 Cents Only Stores Texas Inc. alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Feb. 8, 2017, he was in the course and scope of his employment with defendant. While unloading a truck and pallets, the suit states the pallet's weight shifted and knocked the plaintiff off the lift he was standing on, causing him to fall 6 feet to the floor. He alleges he sustained serious and disabling injuries.

The plaintiff holds 99 Cents Only Stores Texas Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to provide a safe place to work and failed to eliminate unsafe methods and operations.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks monetary relief of more than $200,000 but not more than $1 million and such other equitable and lawful relief. He is represented by Nicole M. Nech of The Nech Law Firm PC in Houston.
