GALVESTON – A Galveston County man alleges one finger was crushed and another lost while helping a towing company unload a car at an auto dealership.

Michael Lewis filed a complaint on Jan. 22 in the Galveston County District Court against League City Towing and DeMontrond LLC alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on April 1, 2017, he was seriously injured when his friend's car, which had been towed by League City Towing's employee to DeMontrond LLC, rolled back and caught his hand on the tire wheel. He alleges that the League City Towing driver had asked the plaintiff to turn the wheel so he could apply lubricant to the trailer to remove the car from the trailer. The suit states the plaintiff lost his right ring finger and crushed his right pinky finger in the incident.

The plaintiff holds League City Towing and DeMontrond LLC responsible because defendants' alleged negligence caused the plaintiff to suffer personal injuries.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks monetary relief of more than $100,000 but not more than $1 million and all other relief to which he is entitled. He is represented by Chad Pinkerton and Benjamin R. Roberts of The Pinkerton Law Firm PLLC in Houston.
