HOUSTON – A Houston woman is suing a salon for terminating her over her disability, recent Harris County District Court records show.

Eve Papp filed a lawsuit against Vanity, Inc., doing business as Vanity Salon, on Jan. 24.

Court documents state that Vanity employed Papp for more than 17 years, adding the plaintiff suffered an injury in September 2014 which caused her to lose much use of her legs.

Papp says she was able to perform her job responsibilities despite her condition.

A year later, the complaint says, the defendant’s owner told Papp that she should retire because of her health.

Papp asserted she worked with her hands, to which her boss said it did not matter, according to the original petition.

The plaintiff, was 67 years old at the time, was then terminated.

Consequently, she seeks unspecified monetary damages and a jury trial.

Andrew S. Golub of the law firm Dow Golub Remels & Gilbreath, PLLC in Houston is representing the complainant.
