Worker seeks more than $1 million from James Mitchell Inc., Service Industrial Rebuilders

HOUSTON – A Harris County man alleges a failure to implement proper and effective safety programs at a worksite caused him to lose a thumb.

Rodrigo Mesa filed a complaint on Jan. 25 in the Harris County District Court against James Mitchell Inc. and Service Industrial Rebuilders alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Feb. 2, 2017, his thumb was severed while using a lathe machine while working on the defendants' premises.

The plaintiff holds James Mitchell Inc. and Service Industrial Rebuilders responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to provide proper and effective equipment and failed to implement proper and effective safety programs.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks monetary relief of more than $1 million and such other just and proper relief. He is represented by J. Moises Cedillos of Cedillos Law Firm PLLC in Houston.
