HOUSTON – A Houston woman alleges she was forced to quit her job as a waitress because of harassment from the owner of the restaurant.

Madeline L. Mirza filed a complaint on Feb. 2 in the Harris County District Court against Peli Peli 2 LP, Peli Peli Galleria LLC, Peli Peli Gateway LLC and Paul Friedman alleging that they violated the Texas Commission on Human Rights Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that Friedman subjected her to sexual assault and harassment in the restaurant where she worked as a waitress and in front of witnesses in June 2017. She alleges she reported the incident to human resources to no avail and was forced to quit.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks monetary relief of more than $200,000 but not more than $1 million and all other relief to which she is entitled. She is represented by Mark J. Oberti and Edwin Sullivan of Oberti Sullivan LLP in Houston.
