Beaumont – On Feb. 7, The Ferguson Law Firm announced that Cody Dishon had been named as the law firm’s newest ownership partner.
The announcement was made by the firm’s managing partner, Chip Ferguson. It was done before a packed-house at a firm-wide luncheon held in Dishon’s honor.
“Cody Dishon is everything a law firm would want in a partner,” Ferguson said. “He goes to the courthouse. He is both a chicken catcher and chicken plucker. Cody has demonstrated a top-flight ability to generate business and, more importantly, handle it successfully to a conclusion.”

Dishon, at age 29, is already eligible for Board Certification by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in Personal Injury Trial Law, making him one of, if not the, youngest in the state of Texas to be so certified.
“Cody’s star has not only risen but it has risen quickly,” Ferguson added.
Dishon was joined by his wife, Julia Dishon, a certified registered nurse anesthetist. Thanking first his wife for her “understanding and patience when I have to work weekends or have to work nights,” Dishon praised others who made his path attainable.
“I also could not have done this without my legal assistant, Jessica Burkett, and the other staff and attorneys at the firm. I have had a path blazed in front of me and the support of everyone as I walked that path.”
Noting his youthfulness in being named partner, he added: “Making partner at a firm as successful and respected as The Ferguson Law Firm is a dream come true. To do so at age 29 feels like breaking a record. But, breaking records is nothing new here. The Ferguson Law Firm is built on record-breaking verdicts and settlements.”
Ferguson followed those comments by stating: “The lawyers who have come ahead of Cody have set the bar high with our verdicts, our settlements, our commitment to honest and fair representation of our clients. I know that Cody will not only reach that bar but will easily clear it.”
The Ferguson Law Firm has a record of success. In 2017 alone, the firm accumulated more than $160,000,000 in verdicts and settlements on behalf of their clients.
