Woman alleges Accel at Hermann failed to safeguard patients

HOUSTON – A Harris County woman has filed a suit against a care facility after her mother fell while under its care.

Clemmie St. Amand, as power of attorney for Frances St. Amand, and Frances St. Amand filed a complaint on Feb. 19 in the Harris County District Court against HP SNY Opco LLC, doing business as Accel at Hermann Park, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that on Feb. 19, 2016, Frances St. Amand suffered a severe fall while under the defendant's care. The suit states that she fractured her left arm humeral head as a result.

The plaintiffs holds HP SNY Opco LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to exercise reasonable care to safeguard its patients, failed to provide adequate facilities or equipment and failed to implement proper policies and procedures for the care and treatment of patients.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek monetary relief of more than $250,000 and such other just and proper relief. They are represented by Adjua Umoja-Justice of The Justice Law Firm in Houston.
