Ashlyn Egger, a Texas resident and former employee of a prominent healthcare corporation, has filed a lawsuit against her previous employer, alleging negligence that led to severe personal injuries. The complaint was lodged by Egger on January 9, 2025, in the 270th Judicial District Court of Harris County, Texas, targeting HCA Healthcare Inc. and Clear Lake Regional Medical Center.

The lawsuit stems from an incident on February 3, 2023, when Egger was working as a registered nurse at the defendants' hospital in Webster, Texas. She claims that due to inadequate staffing and lack of proper equipment for patient transfer, she suffered significant physical injuries while attempting to move a patient. Despite multiple requests for assistance from hospital administration, none was provided. Egger's complaint accuses the defendants of failing to maintain a safe work environment and neglecting their duty to provide necessary resources and training for employees.

Egger's legal action outlines several accusations against HCA Healthcare Inc., including failure to ensure workplace safety, insufficient staffing levels leading to undue physical stress on employees, and inadequate supervision and training. These alleged lapses are claimed to have directly resulted in Egger's injuries. "Each of these acts and/or omissions... constituted negligence," the complaint states.

In seeking justice, Egger demands monetary relief exceeding $250,000 but not more than $1 million. She also seeks pre-judgment and post-judgment interest at the maximum legal rate allowed by law, along with court costs and any other relief deemed appropriate by the court.

Representing Ashlyn Egger is attorney John Vong from the Law Offices of John Vong PLLC based in Houston. The case is presided over by Judge Nelda C. Rodriguez under Case ID 2025-01764.
