Maintenance worker alleges Plaza on Hammerly owes unpaid overtime wages

Law money 07

HOUSTON – A Houston man alleges he was not paid at the appropriate overtime rate while he was employed as a maintenance worker for an apartment complex.

Patrick Flores filed a complaint on Feb. 20 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against Plaza on Hammerly LLC alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that between July 2017 and Jan. 20, 2018, he worked for defendant for approximately 48 to 56 hours per workweek.

The plaintiff holds Plaza on Hammerly LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to pay overtime compensation at a rate of time-and-one-half for those hours worked in excess of 40 hours per week.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks unpaid overtime wages, liquidated damages, reasonable attorney’s fees and costs and such other and further relief. He is represented by Charles L. Scalise of Ross Law Group in Austin.
