Family members allege Grace Care Center of Cypress failed to reduce risk of patient's pressure sores

Medical malpractice 05

HOUSTON – A Harris County medical facility is alleged to have breached the standard of care regarding a former patient.

Charles Harrell, et al., as representatives of the estate of Carlee Muldrow, deceased filed a complaint on Feb. 21 in the Harris County District Court against Cypress Care LP, doing business as Grace Care Center of Cypress, alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that during Carlee Muldrow's residency at defendant's facility in 2016, she suffered unstageable pressure ulcers and deep tissue injuries.

The plaintiffs hold Cypress Care LP responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to employ and equipment or strategies or minimize the risk of pressure sores.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek monetary relief of more than $200,000 but not more than $1 million and such other lawful and equitable relief. They are represented by Steven R. Davis and John R. Davis Jr. of Davis & Davis Attorneys at Law in Houston.
