Homeowner claims Southeast Texas Engineering & Inspection failed to perform inspections

GALVESTON – A Galveston County resident alleges a contractor failed to provide the services as promised.

Kent Cox filed a complaint on Feb. 23 in the Galveston County District Court against Southeast Texas Engineering & Inspection LLC alleging breach of contract and negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that in 2016, he contracted the defendant for the installation of solar energy equipment on the roof of his Dickinson residence. He alleges the defendant failed to provide and perform necessary inspections in order for the plaintiff to obtain a certificate of compliance.

As a result of defendant's alleged breaches, the plaintiff claims he suffered damages of $26,308.20.

The plaintiff seeks monetary relief of $100,000 or less and such other relief to which he is entitled. He is represented by Dennis J. Albright and Kathryn A. Lumpkin of Albright & Lumpkin PC in Houston.
