HOUSTON – A Brazoria County woman alleges negligent treatment at a medical spa caused scarring.

Erica Gaytan filed a complaint on Feb. 25 in the Harris County District Court against Lake Jackson Medical Spa LTD and Jamie Gutman alleging medical negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that between Jan. 15, 2015, and March 29, 2016, she was under the care of the defendants for treatment for her skin. During the course of the medical treatments, she alleges she was left with permanent scarring and darkening on her face and back because of the negligent treatments by Gutman.

The plaintiff holds Lake Jackson Medical Spa LTD and Gutman responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to properly evaluate the plaintiff's skin condition and failed to properly adjust treatments to be safely applied to the plaintiff's skin.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks monetary relief of more than $200,000 but not more than $1 million and such other lawful and equitable relief. She is represented by Marrick Armstrong and Ghazal A. Vahora of Smith Reed & Armstrong PLLC in Pearland.
