Woman alleges water in front of Kroger ice cooler caused fall

HOUSTON – A Kroger shopper alleges that water on the floor caused her to fall and injure her knee.

Marianne Robertson filed a complaint on Feb. 26 in the Harris County District Court against Kroger Texas LP alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Nov. 15, 2017, she was injured when she slipped and fell on water that was in front of the ice cooler at defendant's Kroger grocery at 12400 FM 1960 Road West in Houston. She alleges she suffered injuries to her left knee and other parts of her body as a result.

The plaintiff holds Kroger Texas LP responsible because the defendant allegedly failed inspect the premises, failed to correct the dangerous condition and failed to warn her that such danger existed.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks monetary relief of more than $200,000 but not more than $1 million and such other lawful and equitable relief. She is represented by Mariah Bhatti and John Arthur Daspit of Daspit Law Firm in Houston.
