HOUSTON – A Rusk couple alleges the negligence of two physicians caused the amputations of both of the wife's legs.

Gloria Armbruster and Robert Armbruster filed a complaint on Feb. 26 in the Harris County District Court against Tejal B. Shah MD and Amy T. Mynderse MD alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that the defendants noted Gloria Armbruster's right calf pain in September 2016. She alleges she was later diagnosed with ischemia and her right leg was amputated below the knee in October 2016. The suit states her left leg was later amputated.

The plaintiffs hold Shah and Mynderse responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to perform proper differential diagnosis and failed to investigate or rule out arterial occlusions.

The plaintiffs request a trial by jury and seek compensatory and punitive damages, pre- and post-judgment interest, costs of court and such other relief to which they are entitled. They are represented by Marc E. Stewart of Marc Stewart Law PLLC in Little Rock, Arkansas and John K. Zaid and Joe I. Zaid of John K. Zaid & Associates in Houston.
