HOUSTON – A Houston consumer is seeking damages from a debt collector over allegations it continued to call her after she asked it to stop.

Kimberly R. Robinson filed a complaint on Feb. 27 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against Accelerated Financial Solutions LLC alleging violation of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and the Telephone Consumer Protection Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that beginning in September 2017, she received calls to her cellphone from the defendant seeking to collect an alleged consumer debt. She alleges she has notified the defendant that she disputed this alleged debt and demanded that it stop contacting her. However, she alleges the defendant has called 12 times since she asked it to stop.

The plaintiff holds Accelerated Financial Solutions LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly violated the FDCPA by continuing to call her after being asked to stop.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks statutory damages of $1,000, actual damages, costs and attorney fees and such other just and appropriate relief. She is represented by Nathan C. Volheim and Taxiarchis Hatzidimitriadis of Sulaiman Law Group LTD in Lombard, Illinois.
