HOUSTON – An apparent accident at a Pearland Big Lots store is the subject of a Houston woman’s lawsuit.

Kristy Jackson filed the suit on behalf of herself and as next friend of a minor who was allegedly injured at the business located at 2028 N. Main St.

According to court papers, the unidentified child “was severely injured when poorly secured chairs fell on top of him from a shelf above” when he and Jackson were shopping on Mar. 19, 2016.

The defendant is faulted for maintaining the business in a reckless and careless manner.

Consequently, Jackson seeks unspecified monetary damages and a jury trial.

She is represented by Loren G. Klitsas and Jared W. Capps of the law firm Klitsas & Vercher, P.C. in Houston.
