HOUSTON – An Illinois woman alleges she lost her job as a sales representative for a Fort Worth company because of discrimination.
Candice M. Rochford filed a complaint on Feb. 28 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against D.R. Horton - Texas LTD alleging gender discrimination.
According to the complaint, the plaintiff began working for the defendant as a sales representative in June 2014 and became one of the top sales representatives in the North Houston area. She alleges she was treated differently than male sales representatives and that she was terminated for actions done by a male employee.
The plaintiff holds D.R. Horton - Texas LTD responsible because the defendant allegedly discriminated against her regarding the terms and conditions of her employment and terminated her employment because of her gender.
The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks compensatory and punitive damages, attorneys’ fees, costs of court, pre- and post-judgment interest and all other just and proper relief. She is represented by Mark Lazarz and Brian J. Levy of Shellist Lazarz Slobin LLP in Houston.
