Safety inspector seeks $1 million from HDZ Express Utilities after machine fell on him

Medical malpractice 03

HOUSTON – A safety inspector and utilities locator alleges he was injured at a site when a machine fell on him.

Thomas Razo filed a complaint on March 6, in the Harris County District Court against HDZ Express Utilities Inc. alleging negligence and other counts.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on July 28, 2016, he was working at a site on Koinm Road in Houston and was injured when a boring machine fell directly on him. He alleges he suffered injuries and damages that resulted in medical expenses, pain and suffering, mental anguish, loss of earnings and disfigurement.

The plaintiff holds HDZ Express Utilities Inc. responsible because the defendant's employee allegedly negligently attempted to unload the boring machine when it was unsafe to do so, failed to properly secure the trailer to the truck and failed to notify him of the dangerous condition.

The plaintiff seeks monetary relief of more than $1 million and such other relief to which he may show himself justly entitled. He is represented by Robert S. Kwok, Todd W. Phares and Alex P. Boylhart of Kwok Daniel LTD LLP in Houston.
