HOUSTON – A waste disposal driver has filed a class-action lawsuit against his former employer over allegations he is owed unpaid overtime wages.

Javier Uribe, individually and on behalf of all others similarly situated, filed a complaint on March 7 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against Houston Waste Solutions LLC alleging that the employer violated the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff was employed by the defendant from March 2016 to October 2017. He alleges he routinely worked more than 40 hours per workweek for the defendant but did not receive overtime compensation at a rate of time-and-one-half of his regular rate.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks an order certifying this complaint as a collective action and finding defendant is liable for unpaid back wages, liquidated damages, pre- and post-judgment interest, attorney's fees, costs and such other necessary and appropriate relief.

He is represented by Clif Alexander, Austin W. Anderson, Lauren E. Braddy, Alan Clifton Gordon, Carter T. Hastings, George Schimmel of Anderson Alexander PLLC in Corpus Christi.
