GALVESTON – A laborer at an Alvin facility alleges he was poisoned and injured by substances and fumes.

James Earl Jones filed a complaint on March 12 in the Galveston County District Court against Hydrochem LLC alleging negligence and negligent misrepresentation.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that during the course and scope of employment with the defendant from Sept. 25 to Oct. 16, 2017, he was exposed to hazardous chemicals and was poisoned. He alleges the poisoning caused extreme fatigue, confusion and throat irritation.

The plaintiff holds Hydrochem LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to minimize or control the emission of the substances and failed to protect the plaintiff against them by furnishing protective clothing or respirators.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks damages, interest and such other just and appropriate relief. He is represented by Kiernan McAlpine and John Arthur Daspit of Daspit Law Firm in Houston.
