HOUSTON – A wedding events center faces a personal injury lawsuit from a guest who visited the venue almost two years ago.

In court documents filed against Phoenix Events Center, LLC on Mar. 21 in the Harris County 281st District Court, Orbola Olodukun says she tripped and fell as she made her way to the dance floor on Apr. 16, 2016.

A raised section of the dance floor caused the incident, according to the original petition.

It further explains that the hardwood dance floor “appears to be flush and level with the section of carpeting that leads to the dance floor.”

“Thus, an illusion is created so that the hardwood dance floor appears to be level with the rest of the ground floor in the event room,” the complaint states.

Olodukun claims she suffered a fractured ankle, adding she then learned from a friend that the defendant knew about the condition in condition but did nothing to address it.

Consequently, the plaintiff seeks unspecified monetary damages and a jury trial.

She is represented by C. Chad Pinkerton and Benjamin R. Roberts of The Pinkerton Law Firm, PLLC in Houston.
