SHERMAN – A Grayson County man alleges he was discriminated against at a Sherman facility because of a disability.

Cory Williams filed a complaint on March 19 in the Sherman District of the Eastern District of Texas against Tyson Foods Inc. alleging violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff was employed by the defendant from May to August 2016 at its Sherman plant as a laborer. He alleges he was terminated for having too many points for every time he was sent home for having a seizure.

The plaintiff holds Tyson Foods Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to provide reasonable accommodation, failed to engage in any interactive process and terminated his employment on the basis of his disability or perceived disability.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks actual damages in an amount within the jurisdictional limits of the court, pre- and post-judgment interest, reinstatement, liquidated damages, attorney’s fees, costs of court and such other general or special relief. He is represented by Ronald R. Huff in Sherman.
