Woman alleges Sodexo Operations left puddle of floor wax that caused fall

Slip02

HOUSTON – A registered nurse alleges she needed multiple treatments for injuries after she fell because of floor wax.

Gloria Bell filed a complaint on March 26 in the Harris County District Court against Sodexo Operations LLC alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on March 21, 2017, she was visiting her mother at Cypress Fairbanks Medical Center and was injured when she slipped and fell on a puddle of wax that was left by the defendant's employee in front of the door.

She alleges she suffered serious injuries that required medical attention, pain and suffering, mental anguish and lost wages.

The plaintiff holds Sodexo Operations LLC responsible because the defendant's employees allegedly failed to clearly mark the areas that they made slippery by the application of wax.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks monetary relief of more than $200,000 but not more than $1 million and such other legal and equitable relief. She is represented by Tim Riley of Riley Law Firm in Houston.
