Former Greenwood Hall employees allege Bryan location closed without warning

Law money 06

HOUSTON – Several Brazos County residents allege their call center employer closed without warning and that they are still owed unpaid wages.

Elsa Sauceda, Sabrina Villavicencio, et al. filed a complaint on March 26 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas against Greenwood Hall Inc. alleging violation of the Fair Labor Standards Act and the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that they did not receive their last paychecks and other missing wages in time after defendant's business in Bryan suddenly closed in Dec. 1, 2017, without warning.

The plaintiffs hold Greenwood Hall Inc. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to pay its laid off employees at least the minimum wage for two paychecks and other missing wages and failed to provide at least 60 days' written notice before a mass layoff.

The plaintiffs seek all unpaid wages and overtime compensation, liquidated damages, attorney's fees, costs and such other appropriate relief. They are represented by Christopher E. Anderson and Daniel L. Mathis of Daniel Stark PC in Bryan.
