HOUSTON – A Harris County man claims he rented a truck that had a defective stepladder which caused him injuries.

In a lawsuit filed on Mar. 27 in the Harris County 55th District Court, Philip Jackson says the truck belonged to Penske Truck Leasing Co., L.P., doing business as Texas Penske Truck Leasing Co., LP.

He reportedly went to the defendant’s business located at 11608 Hempstead Hwy. in Houston to retrieve the subject vehicle to use for his job.

The suit states that a Penske employee told him repairs were being done to the truck’s stepladder. Jackson later took the truck away from the facility.

When he arrived at his destination, the original petition says, he stepped on the stepladder to exit the vehicle, but the entire stepladder broke off.

The complainant asserts he sustained injuries to his knees and ankles.

Consequently, Jackson seeks unspecified monetary damages.

He is represented by Audrey Manito and Michael P. Fleming of the law firm Michael P. Fleming & Assoc., P.C. in Houston.
