HOUSTON – A Woodlands resident is suing a north Houston hospital for retaliating against her because she investigated alleged billing fraud at the facility, recent Harris County District Court records show.

In a lawsuit filed against Providence Hospital of North Houston, LLC on Apr. 2 in the Harris County 151st District Court, Citali Rodriguez explains her actions in response to the supposed wrongdoing by the defendant resulted in the loss of her comptroller position last year.

Rodriguez asserts she uncovered and reported the fraud in good faith, but the hospital, doing business as Providence Hospital, stripped her of access to its billing and financial records, as well as transferred her to the marketing department.

Consequently, the plaintiff seeks unspecified monetary damages and a jury trial.

She is represented by J. Todd Trombley of The Trombley Law Firm, PLLC in Houston.
