HOUSTON – A Houston man is suing his employer following an alleged slip and fall earlier this year, recent Harris County District Court records show.

Ricky Brown filed a lawsuit against XPO Logistics, Inc. on Apr. 17 in the Harris County 61st District Court, claiming the event in question occurred on the company’s premises last Jan. 16.

Brown says the defendant’s warehouse ramps were coated with ice due to the winter storm that visited the area.

The condition in question caused a freight the plaintiff was carrying to fall on top of him and crush his legs, recent court documents say.

According to Brown, he will undergo “significant” surgeries because of the subject incident.

Consequently, he seeks more than $1 million in damages and a jury trial.
