HOUSTON – An employee of a contractor alleges she was injured when a ceiling fell on her during a remodeling project.

Andreyna Naya filed a complaint on April 17 in the Harris County District Court against Cotton Holdings LLC alleging premises liability.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Oct. 20, 2017, she was working for the defendant and was injured when the ceiling fell on her while she was cleaning in an area. She alleges she suffered serious injuries that resulted in medical expenses, pain and suffering, mental anguish, lost wages and impairment.

The plaintiff holds Cotton Holdings LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to maintain the area in a safe manner and failed to warn the plaintiff or make the area safe.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks monetary relief of more than $100,000 but less than $200,000 and such other legal and equitable relief. She is represented by David K. Mestemaker, Norman Straub, Jonathan B. Zumwalt and Codi D. Kraus of Mestemaker & Straub in Houston.
