Fiesta worker slips and falls on grapes while performing task, files lawsuit

Slip02

HOUSTON – A grocery store worker has brought a slip and fall lawsuit against her employer.

Silvia Orellana blames Fiesta Mart, LLC for an on the job incident almost two years ago in which she slipped and fell on grapes while restocking shelves at the defendant’s store in Cypress on May 8, 2016.

Court papers filed on Apr. 19 in the Harris County 151st District Court allege there were no warning signs in place at the time of the subject incident, faulting the defendant for not providing Orellana a safe workplace.

Consequently, the plaintiff seeks unspecified monetary damages and a jury trial.

She is represented by Loren G. Klitsas and Jared W. Capps of the law firm Klitsas & Vercher, P.C. in Houston.
