HOUSTON – A tenant of a Houston apartment complex alleges the complex's operators failed to correct a condition that caused a fire.

Tolan Beck filed a complaint on April 18 in the Harris County District Court against Firmus Management and Construction LLC, et al. alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Feb. 13, he was sleeping at defendants' apartment complex when a fire started because of faulty wiring or unauthorized tenants. He alleges he was injured when he slipped and fell while fleeing the complex.

The plaintiff holds Firmus Management and Construction LLC, et al. responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to inspect and discover the unreasonably dangerous condition and failed to make it safe or to provide warning that such danger existed.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks monetary relief of less than $100,000 or less and all other relief that are proper and just. He is represented by Robert Freed and John Arthur Daspit of Daspit Law Firm in Houston.
