HOUSTON – A Cypress woman and her daughter allege Saxon Technologies terminated them for raising sexual harassment complaints.

Dawn and Samantha Friend filed a lawsuit on Apr. 24 in the Houston Division of the Southern District of Texas, asserting Samantha Friend received unwanted advances from a male machinist.

The suit explains the employee, Jerry Cross, visited the area where the younger Friend worked and “made sexually suggestive comments and noises to” her.

Cross’s conduct reportedly worsened when the defendant transferred Samantha Friend to the front desk.

Court papers say the plaintiffs unsuccessfully addressed the sexual harassment with Saxon since the misconduct continued.

According to the original petition, the respondent favored its male employees and refused to fire Samantha Friend’s harasser.

Saxon laid the complainants off in late March 2014 because of slow business, to which the suit counters was in retaliation for their complaints.

Consequently, the Friends seek unspecified monetary damages and a jury trial.

They are represented by Katrina Patrick of the Law Offices of Katrina Patrick in Houston.
