Resident sues rehab facility following slip and fall in showers

Slip02

HOUSTON – A rehabilitation facility faces a slip and fall lawsuit from one of its residents, recent Harris County District Court records indicate.

In court documents filed against TRS Behavioral Care, Inc., doing business as The Right Step, in the Harris County 333rd District Court on Apr. 25, Randy C. Bailey says he sustained a wrist injury on Dec. 7, 2016 when he slipped and fell in the facility’s showers.

Bailey claims the defendant sent him to the showers while he was in a heavily medicated state and without supervision. He adds the area lacked a nonslip surface and handrails.

Consequently, Bailey seeks unspecified monetary damages and a jury trial.

Scott A. Sanes of the Sanes & Larkin Law Firm, LLP in Pearland is representing the plaintiff.
