Man says Methodist Hospital wrongfully terminated him over debunked allegation

HOUSTON – A Harris County man has filed a lawsuit against Methodist Hospital for terminating him over an allegation he asserts was determined false.

In court documents filed on May 3 in the Harris County 125th District Court, Willie Harvey explains that a man named Jason Lazo told a manager at the facility that he openly instructed to solicit a gift from a vendor in order for that vendor to keep working with the hospital.

Insinuating the allegation was bogus, Harvey adds the vendor in question told the hospital that it was not contacted for the purpose of soliciting gifts by anyone.

Methodist, however, fired the plaintiff, the original petition says.

Lazo joins the hospital as a co-defendant in the case.

Consequently, Harvey seeks unspecified monetary damages and a jury trial.

He is represented by Valerie G. Jewett of Houston.
