Former Kroger employee asserts supermarket chain terminated her in response to disability

SHERMAN – The Kroger Co. faces a lawsuit from a Wise County woman who accuses the Ohio-based supermarket chain of terminating her over her drug test results, recent Sherman federal court records show.

Kathy R. Thompson was previously employed by Kroger as a deli clerk. Her suit, filed on May 4, states the drug test results in question were negative, but the defendant fired her after nearly three months of employment.

Thompson asserts the act was in response to her disability, for which she attempted to seek accommodations.

Consequently, the complainant seeks unspecified monetary damages and a jury trial.

She is represented by John E. Wall, Jr. of the Law Offices of John E. Wall, Jr. in Dallas.
