HOUSTON – A shopper at a Houston store alleges boxes left on the floor caused her to fall.

Teresa D. Mazyn filed a complaint on May 3 in the Harris County District Court against The Punny Corp. alleging negligence.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that on Feb. 14, she was walking through defendant's Quick Shop store on Aldine Mail Route Road in Houston when she tripped and fell on boxes that were left on the floor. She alleges she suffered severe injuries resulting in pain, mental anguish, loss of earnings, medical expenses and disfigurement as a result of the fall.

The plaintiff holds The Punny Corp. responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to adequately secure the store premises and failed to provide adequate warning of the danger.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks monetary relief of more than $200,000 but not more than $1 million and all other relief that is lawful and equitable. She is represented by Brent M. Cordell of Smith & Hassler in Houston.
