HOUSTON – The Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County has been sued for not properly securing a disabled passenger on two occasions a couple of years ago.

In a lawsuit filed on May 9 in the Harris County 333rd District Court, Thomas Sims alleges he fell out of his wheelchair when he rode the defendant’s busses on May 10 and 12, 2016.

Sims attributes the May 10, 2016 incident to a bus driver making a left turn while the incident two days later was reportedly caused by a driver turning right.

Consequently, the plaintiff seeks unspecified monetary damages.

He is represented by Eric D. Nielsen of The Nielsen Law Firm, P.C. in Houston.
