HOUSTON – A Montgomery County man has filed a legal malpractice suit against his former Conroe attorneys over allegations they failed to timely file documents.

Ricardo A. De Hoyos filed a complaint on May 7 in the Harris County District Court against Harrison & Dietrich PLLC, Harrison Firm PLLC and Steinmann Law Firm alleging violation of the Deceptive Trade Practices Act.

According to the complaint, the law firm Steinmann & Harrison represented the plaintiff in the State of Texas and the city of Conroe v. DEHGO LLC, et al. in December 2003. The plaintiff alleges the firm failed to timely file proceedings. He alleges he incurred damages of $36,202.42.

The plaintiff holds Harrison & Dietrich PLLC, Harrison Firm PLLC and Steinmann Law Firm responsible because the defendants allegedly misrepresented that their services were of a particular standard and misrepresented that work or services had been performed when they had not.

The plaintiff seeks monetary relief of more than $200,000 but not more than $1 million and all other relief to which he is entitled. He is represented by Ronald L. Bair and Kenneth A. Scott of BairHilty PC in Houston.
