HOUSTON – A local woman claims she suffered a violent fall almost two years ago at a barbecue restaurant near NRG Park and has filed a lawsuit, according to recent Harris County District Court records.

Ida Davis is suing Pappas Bar-B-Q, Inc. in the Harris County 127th District Court, stating she slipped on water that had been left in the drink fountain area at the restaurant located at 8777 S. Main St.

Davis went to eatery on July 22, 2016 for lunch, as well as to complain to the manager about a previous dining experience. The manager invited her to have a beverage right before the incident occurred, the suit says.

According to the plaintiff, she sustained multiple injuries including, but not limited to a traumatic brain injury and a serious laceration to her forehead.

She faults Pappas for not providing signage warning customers about the condition in question.

Consequently, Davis seeks unspecified monetary damages and a jury trial.

Kenneth W. Smith of the Law Offices of Kenneth W. Smith in Houston is representing the complainant.
