HOUSTON – A La Porte couple alleges that a contractor they hired to repair damages to their home from Hurricane Harvey failed to finish the work.

Robert C. Thompson III and Elizabeth C. Thompson filed a complaint on May 15 in the Harris County District Court against Pedro "Pete" Vasquez Jr., doing business as Construction & Restoration Masters, et al. alleging that they violated the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act and other counts.

According to the complaint, the plaintiffs allege that in September 2017, they contacted defendants to perform repair work to their residence that was damaged by Hurricane Harvey and paid $33,742 for the repairs.

The plaintiffs hold Vasquez Jr., et al. responsible because the defendants allegedly failed to finish all repair work as agreed upon and refused to refund money for any work that was not finished.

The plaintiffs seek damages of up to $200,000, with interest, attorney fees, costs and all other relief that is legal and equitable. They are represented by George Edwards III and Murphy McGuire of Edwards Sutarwalla PLLC in Houston.
