Law money 12

GALVESTON – An individual formerly employed as a health and safety employee for a staffing company alleges she is owed unpaid overtime pay.

Angelica Moore, individually and on behalf of all others similarly situated, filed a complaint on May 21 in the Galveston Division of the Southern District of Texas against Cardinal Compliance Consultants LLC alleging that the staffing company violated the Fair Labor Standards Act.

According to the complaint, the plaintiff alleges that between Oct. 27, 2017, and May 11 she regularly worked for defendant for more than 40 hours per week without receiving proper overtime compensation. She alleges she was misclassified as exempt and was instead paid her regular rate of pay for the additional hours.

The plaintiff holds Cardinal Compliance Consultants LLC responsible because the defendant allegedly failed to pay her overtime compensation a rate of time-and-a-half of her regular rate of pay for all hours worked in excess of 40 hours in a workweek.

The plaintiff requests a trial by jury and seeks to recover overtime compensation, liquidated damages, attorney’s fees, costs of court, prejudgment and post-judgment interest and all injunctive relief under the provisions of the FLSA. She is represented by J. Moises Cedillos of Cedillos Law Firm PLLC in Houston.
