HOUSTON – A Harris County man claims he was hit in the head with a ladder while on the job two months ago and has pursued legal action.

Cody McBride pins the injury on Houston Fuel Oil Terminal, Inc. in a lawsuit filed on May 22 in the Harris County 164th District Court.

The suit says McBride was picking up the gangway ladder with his supervisor at the defendant’s plant at the time of the accident.

The respondent’s employees were reportedly putting the ladder onto the back of the flatbed truck the plaintiff entered the plant in.

According to the original petition, the plaintiff was standing on the side of the flatbed when the truck was driving away when the gangway fell off the truck and struck him in his head.

Consequently, McBride seeks unspecified monetary damages and a jury trial.

He is represented by Yusuf S. Ansari and John A. Daspit of the Daspit Law Firm in Houston.
