HOUSTON – A former shipping clerk with Houston Plating & Coating, LLC has brought a sexual harassment lawsuit against the business, recent Harris County District Court records show.

In court papers filed on May 23 in the Harris County 151st District Court, Rhonda Ramirez alleges the defendant terminated her for complaining about unwanted advances her supervisor.

Ramirez says Dennis Umanzor asked her to sleep with him and made inappropriate comments about her body.

The suit further states that the defendant’s leadership obtained Ramirez’s written report detailing Umanzor’s supposed mistreatment of her. Ramirez was then reportedly fired for not placing a work order.

According to the plaintiff, the reason was pre-textual.

Consequently, Ramirez seeks unspecified monetary damages and a jury trial.

She is represented by Daniel B. Ross and Brett C. Beeler of the Ross Law Group in Austin.
